ENGINEERING MANAGER – CT
Deringer-Ney, Inc . is a global leader in the invention, development and supply of custom precious metal alloys and precision components. Our Bloomfield division is a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, home to our alloy development and manufacturing, precision stamping, micro- joining and insert molding groups.
We seek an Engineering Manager with strong leadership and technical skills who can lead by example. In this role, the candidate will manage a team of product design, tool design and manufacturing engineers. The Engineering Manager will be tasked with applying their strong technical expertise and continuous improvement mindset in coordinating design and production activities in a quality conscious, manufacturing operation. In this role, the Manager works closely with sales, operations and quality teams to optimize overall operational excellence. The most important measure of success will be their ability to lead the engineering teams to deliver tools and products of exceptional quality at high productivity.
Supervision of engineering and technical staff.
Oversee development of designs and plans of new tooling and manufacturing projects.
Ensure on-time and on-budget completion of all internal and external technical programs.
Ensure that sound, efficient and professional engineering practices are utilized. Lead efforts to understand non-conformances and reduce Cost of Poor Quality.
Participate in proposals by estimating manufacturing plans and tooling.
Communicate and coordinate with product management and customers on new products and production modifications.
Identify current and future needs that align with our overall business strategy and seek out or develop new manufacturing technologies to meet those needs.
5+ years of related engineering experience in the manufacturing and engineering of mechanical products.
5+ years of experience managing engineering teams and projects.
Must be an innovative, out-of-the-box thinker and a hands-on problem solver.
B.S. degree in Mechatronics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
