Business Development Manager 1 ATC – AT&T – Connecticut

The primary responsibility for the Business Development Manager 1 ATC is selling professional services in a specific territory . Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Directly responsible for selling the company’s consulting and/or other professional services.

Identifies and generates new customers or expands existing accounts within an established industry, segment, or geographic territory.

Formulates sales plan for assigned accounts and may provide input on sales strategies for region.

Executes on Senior leadership strategic direction and develops tactical strategy to accomplish plans

Ensures forecasts are met.

Aids in planning sales strategy and training sales representatives in implementing plans

Consults during joint sales meetings with customers and direct sales teams.

Understands, develops and delivers solutions to customers.

Develops strategic initiatives to address customer’s business, organization or information processes.

Analyzes and documents current effectiveness of applications/products/services in supporting the customer’s strategic business goals.

Demonstrates general knowledge and consultative selling skills with the assistance/support of the Direct Sales/Consulting team.

Spends a majority of the time in the field

Works with minimal supervision.

Duties directly related to making sales includes:
Meeting with customers and engaging in sales activities at the customer’s site

Communicating with customers via phone, teleconference, e-mail, etc. related to proposed solutions/sales, etc.

Traveling to and from the customers premise for the purpose of engaging in sales activities providing subject matter expertise regarding technical issues relating to sales

Advising customers on suitability of products based on technical needs

Preparing proposals, presentations, or bids, including developing pricing, developing strategic plans related to the customer and the proposed solutions/sales

Researching and developing customer solutions with AT&T external partners, including design and engineering

Researching customer business and industry to identify new sales opportunities

Required Skills:
Eight to ten years of relevant sales experience

Seven or more years of solution based sales experience

5 or more years of experience Consulting and/or Professional Services

Organizational and technical knowledge sufficient to resolve complex problems.

Strong sales track record, excellent persuasion skills and strong negotiation skills

Extensive knowledge of AT&T Portfolio

Industry expertise

Must be self-motivated, highly consultative in their selling methods, goal oriented and results driven.

Valid driver’s license Education:
Bachelors degree is not required; however a Bachelors of Science in Engineering , Computer Science or MIS is preferred Supervisory: No.
